Wow, I've been on a long break from blogging. I think the A to Z Challenge did me in along with just being super busy this summer. Not to mention I got the flu for a couple of weeks which was horrible. Needless to say, I'm getting a flu shot this fall, for sure!
I haven't been writing much either, although I'm plotting a new WIP here and there. This new story is so different than anything I've written. I also wrote a couple of pages to try a new 'voice' out. I think my voice must be too similar to other writers out there and might be part of my problem. It's not easy trying to change it though when that's how things come out. I'm not sure if the new one is working. (I'm going to keep trying though) :)
Anyway, I'm attempting to ease my way back into blogging, but I am getting ready to go on a big trip with my daughter in about a week. She'll be studying abroad for a semester and I'm going with to help her find a place and get settled. I think it will be fun, exciting, and a little nervewracking. Hee Hee :)
I hope you all are having a wonderful summer.
Happy Writing!
Kimberly
Oh, wow! Having a daughter study abroad is huge! How exciting for her (and a little hard for you, I'm sure) :) That's great that you're going with her to find a place. Will you get to visit during the semester as well?
ReplyDeleteYou nailed it - exciting for her, hard for me. :(
DeleteI won't get to visit again except for the three weeks with her in the beginning. I don't think I want to make that flight again 'down under' so soon anyway - I'm dreading that part already. :)
PS~ the above comment is from me~ I'm not sure why it did that to my profile :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I wondered if it was two different Jess' :)
DeleteGood to see you back, Kimberly. Missed you!! Glad you're all over that flu.
ReplyDeleteI would be a nervous wreck about a child studying aboard. I'm just not ready to let my baby go. You guys have fun over there.
Thank you! That flu was the worst I've ever had.
DeleteI'm having a hard time with it but I know she's going to have so much fun and meet so many people from all over the world that will be studying there too. I keep telling myself, it's only 4.5 months!
Enjoy your trip as much as you can and good to see you again :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteWelcome back, Kimberly! I hope you have a great trip. My wife studied abroad for her junior year in college. She went to England... and met me! So, I'm all for study abroad programs. Don't worry--not all the students come back with future spouses. :D
ReplyDeleteHaHa, Colin, you were scaring me there for a minute. ;)
DeleteHi, Kimberly! So sorry to hear that you had the flu. Glad to hear that you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting chance for your daughter to go out and experience a small part of the world by studying abroad for a semester.
Thank you!
DeleteShe is so excited. I know it will be so fun for her.
Wishing you both a wonderful, exciting, thrilling adventure!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cathy! We just landed! :)
